Rajinikanth's 171st Film 'Thalaivar 171' Details Revealed By Director Lokesh Kanagaraj

Renowned Tamil film director and writer Lokesh Kanagaraj has announced his upcoming big film, “Thalaivar 171.” This movie will feature the iconic Rajinikanth in a leading role. Titled “Thalaivar 171,” this film marks Rajinikanth’s 171st movie.

Following Lokesh’s two major successful films, “Vikram” and “Leo,” he is now set to create another big movie, “Thalaivar 171.” Lokesh has previously collaborated with Tamil superstars Kamal Haasan and Thalapathy Vijay, and both collaborations resulted in superhit movies.

Having already announced this film a while ago, Lokesh has cast Rajinikanth in the lead role. As this marks Rajinikanth’s 171st film, it’s been titled “Thalaivar 171.”

In an interview, Lokesh revealed that he’s currently working on the scripting of this upcoming film, and the shooting is scheduled to commence in April 2024. He also mentioned his intention to keep this film devoid of alcohol, drugs, and cigarettes. He expressed that the film won’t promote any illegal substances. Given that Rajinikanth is the hero of this movie, Lokesh aims to keep it straightforward but packed with action.

Lokesh further explained that after completing “Thalaivar 171,” he will then move on to shoot the sequel of Vijay Thalapathy’s “Leo.” While the script for the second part of “Leo” is ready, shooting remains pending.
