Dunki Movie Review: Latest Masterpiece Unraveling Emotions, Entertainment, and Social Realities

So, folks, SRK’s (Shah Rukh Khan) ‘Dunki‘ has been one of the most awaited movies this year after ‘Pathan‘ and ‘Jawaan.’ We’re unaware of the last time any movie made us so emotional or laugh as much.

Raju Hirani’s Masterclass

Dunki Movie Review

Rajkumar Hirani truly seems to have divine intervention guiding his thinking. Whether it’s ‘Munna Bhai,’ ‘PK,’ or ‘3 Idiots,’ picking any movie and watching it, you can repeatedly burst into laughter or feel emotional at any single scene. Their storytelling and the emotions they extract from the actors make every scene a cult classic.

And I bet that after watching ‘Dunki,’ you’ll feel it’s another masterpiece by Raju Hirani that will always feel fresh no matter how many times you watch it, and it’s sure to entertain you. This movie has surpassed his previous works, elevating entertainment to another level.

SRK’s Versatility

In ‘Dunki,’ you won’t see SRK as an action hero like ‘Pathan’ or ‘Jawaan.’ It’s not that there’s no action; there is, but it’s not the typical masala action genre. Raju Hirani is a master at presenting things in the simplest way possible. Here, even the topic of illegal immigration is showcased in a light-hearted comedy format along with heartwarming emotions, keeping the audience engaged.

Especially the way emotional moments are created with skilled characters will touch you. Even though Vicky’s role is small, it was one of his best performances.

Plot and Journey

The movie’s central topic is an actual reality that many people might not be aware of, and through this film, Raju Hirani has shed light on another truth. The social message conveyed towards the end will resonate with you.

With a runtime of 2 hours 41 minutes, you’ll need to spare at least 3 hours for this movie, considering intervals, etc.

While the first half keeps you engaged with humour and comedy, the second half combines humour with emotional elements, showcasing the journey that will grip you to your seats.

Actors Performances

At the end of the first half, there’s a scene that might moisten your eyes, a hallmark emotional presentation that Raju Hirani always includes in his movies, whether it’s the bed scene in ‘Munna Bhai’ with Jimmy Shergill, Ali Fazal’s hanging moment in ‘3 Idiots,’ or Vicky’s moment in this film. Vicky Kaushal has won hearts, and every actor, be it emotional, serious, or comedy sequences, including SRK, Taapsee, and Vicky Kaushal, has given their best performances.

And Shah Rukh’s courtroom monologue scene, seeing him perform emotionally after so long, brings joy to the heart. The background music and BGM in every scene elevate the entire experience.

Audience Reception

The fan wars between SRK and Prabhas fans might be ongoing, leading some to unnecessarily negatively market the movie without even watching it. But audiences are the ultimate judges. Watch it yourself, decide, and share your reviews in the comments.

Overall, in this movie, you’ll reminisce about Raju Sir’s ‘3 Idiots’ and Munna Bhai’s cinematic style, and, of course, you’ll thoroughly enjoy the movie.

The movie was released during the holiday season and is entirely family-friendly. So, go, have a blast! From me, the movie gets four out of five stars for its fresh concept, direction, music, BGM, and of course, the performances of all actors. If you’ve watched this movie, do share your opinion in the comments. Thank you for reading this post till the end.
